Una mezcla muy original: eclecticismo al cubo - A very original mixture: total eclecticism

Muchas veces vemos en decoración combinaciones que, a priori, nos parecen imposibles. Sin embargo, en decoración no podemos nunca dar nada por hecho y muchas veces nos sorprendemos con combinaciones curiosas como la que os traigo hoy. 

Often we see in decoration combinations that can seem to us to be impossible. Nevertheless, in decoration we can never give anything for made and often we are surprised with curious combinations like that I bring you today.

La habitación que os muestro, me ha llamado la atención por los estilos tan opuestos que se adivinan en ella.

Aunque ya ha llegado el buen tiempo, os traigo unas imágenes de esas que son simplemente para soñar. Para soñar con un refugio de montaña. Pero no con cualquier refugio sino con un refugio a lo grande.

It´s in Colorado and is an ecological and sustainable house with the ceiling of photovoltaic panels, modern, re-dressed in recycled wood and stone, with big large windows, sloping ceilings of wood and mythical pieces of design as the Eames of skin in color tobacco and the armchair Barcelona of Mies Van Der Rohe.

Este post va dedicado a Virginia, mi compañera de colegio y de ballet de la infancia a la que me gusta ver, aunque sea dos veces al año con motivo de una feria, y disfrutar de su amplia sonrisa que aún con el paso de los años sigue igual que cuando éramos unas crías. Y qué mejor que dedicarle un post que tiene que ver y mucho con su profesión y su oficio tanto aquí en España como en el Reino Unido... Va por ti Virginia, aunque se que estas cosas no te van... ;-) Ahh! Y excusa mi inglés que ya se que no es muy bueno.
This post is dedicated to Virginia, my companion of college and of ballet of the infancy whom it likes to see, though it is two times a year on the occasion of a fair, and to enjoy her wide smile that still as the years continues like when we were a few girls. And what better that to dedicate her a post that it`s much related with his profession so much here in Spain  like in United Kingdom. El fin de semana pasado estuve en la Feria de Antigüedades Desembalaje de Bilbao que es una feria que no me suelo perder. Me gusta mucho descubrir viejas piezas con encanto e imaginar la historia de las mismas. Aunque, como en todos los sectores, la crisis se ha hecho notar en el número de expositores y en la cantidad de piezas expuestas he podido encontrar algunas piezas encantadoras fáciles de combinar con otros estilos, que me llevaría a casa y que os muestro en este post para daros nuevas ideas decorativas.
Last weekend I was in the Fair of Antiquities Desembalaje of Bilbao that is a fair that I am not in the habit of getting lost. Me likes very much discover old pieces with charm and to imagine the history of the same ones. Though, the same that in other sectors, the economic depresion has made be obvious in the number of exhibitors and in the quantity of exposed pieces, I could have found some charming pieces easy to combine with other styles, which it would take to my house and which I show you in this post to give you new decorative ideas.

Original revistimiento de madera en las paredes - Original wood coating the walls

Esta semana he visto una casa que incorpora un revestimiento de pared muy original. Se trata de un revestimiento de lamas anchas colocadas en sentido horizontal realizadas en madera envejecida sin tratar con una pátina grisácea como del paso del tiempo y que da mucha fuerza decorativa, movimiento y modernidad al conjunto.

El resultado es un revestimiento lleno de textura y calidez, con un cierto aire entre shabby e industrial pero que, acertadamente coordinado con el resto de revestimientos de la casa y el color blanco de la carpintería, consigue un conjunto elegante y lleno de sofisticación y buen gusto.

This week I have seen a house that incorporates a coating of very original wall. It is a coating of big broads placed in horizontal disposition realized in wood aged without treating with a greyish color as of the passage of time and that it gives a lot of decorative force, movement and modernity to the ambient. The result is a coating full of texture and warmth, with a style between shabby and industrial but that coordinated with the rest of coatings of the house and the white color of the carpentry, gets a elegant style full of sophistication and good taste.

Incluso en la cocina... Aunque tengo mis serias dudas acerca de su mantenimiento y practicidad, el resultado es fantástico eso no hay duda.

Even in the kitchen... Though I have my serious doubts over of his maintenance and practical result, the style is fantastic it there is no doubt.

Yo lo anoto como idea para espacios como el recibidor, una pared del salón o incluso la pared del cabecero de la cama en el dormitorio principal. Ya sólo me falta dar con un proveedor que disponga este acabado de revestimiento y en esa anchura...

Salones muy masculinos de estilo vintage - Very masculine lounges of style vintage

Últimamente, me estoy dando cuenta de que me llaman mucho la atención los ambientes masculinos. La verdad es que, si ahora me ponen una fotografía con un dormitorio romántico, lleno de estampados florales y colores pastel al lado de otra fotografía de aspecto más sobrio en colores neutros, tierra, con telas lisas o a rayas y guiños industriales me quedo parada ante la segunda sin lugar a dudas... Y ya sabéis que, como os he dicho muchas veces, me gustan todos los estilos, hasta el romántico (sin empalagar, eso sí).


Lately, I am conscious that are called very much me attention the masculine lounges. The truth is that, if now put me a photography with a romantic bedroom, full of floral prints and soft colors next to another photography in neutral colors, with industrial winks, I stopped before the second one no doubt... And already you know that, since I have said to you often, I like all the styles, the romantic also.

Así que... me estoy empezando a preguntar: ¿Será que me estoy masculinizando? Con lo femenina que he sido yo...  :-)) jajajaja. Bueno, bromas a parte, sí es verdad que hay una inquietud que hace tiempo tengo: y es la sensación de que muchas veces vemos en las revistas muchas decoraciones hechas por mujeres y pensadas para mujeres o hechas por hombres pero decoradas para mujeres (que suelen ser las que, por regla general, se encargan de ello en la unidad familiar). Y aunque muchas de esas decoraciones me apasionen, si trato de imaginármelas decorando la vivienda de un hombre que vive solo y quiere imprimir carácter a su hogar pues como que muchas veces no me pegan. Para amueblar un piso de soltero con fuerte acento masculino, algo en lo que de hecho estoy metida en la actualidad, no suele haber tantas fuentes de inspiración a las que recurrir, o al menos se hacen menos visibles en las cabeceras de las revistas de decoración que pueblan el mercado nacional.

So ... I am myself asking: will I be turning into a boy? With it feminine that I have been...:-)) jajajaja. Well, jokes to part, yes it is true that there is a worry that some time ago I have: it is the sensation that often we see in the magazines many decorations done by women and thought for women or done by men but decorated for women (who are in the habit of being those who, as a general rule, take charge of it in the familiar unit).  To decorate the house of a man who lives alone and wants to stamp character on his home we need other types of inspiration.

Por eso, cuando veo ambientes como los que os enseño hoy me quedo prendada.... me encantan. Me gusta reivindicar el papel masculino en la decoración, utilizar, combinar y conocer estilos más sobrios, fuertes, hasta rudos si queréis, donde no sea necesario recurrir al tan manido bouquet de flores frescas para  hacer hogar... (que ojo!, también está bien pero depende de para qué...). Y por supuesto, reivindicar que este estilo más masculino me parece perfectamente compatible también con el hogar de una mujer que vive sola o con el de una pareja.


Because of it, when I see decorations like that I bring you today I love it .... I am charmed with them. I like to claim the masculine roll in the decoration, to use, to combine and to know more direct, strong styles, where it is not necessary use a typical bouquet of fresh flowers to do home ...  And certainly, to claim that this more masculine style seems to me to be perfectly compatible also with the home of a woman who lives alone or with that of a couple.

 Esta mesa de centro desvencijada es única.. Y las butacas tipo asiento de coche clásico... Y la reinterpretación del chester con capitoné en piel.... ¡Tengo debilidad por los sofás tipo chester! Por cierto, uno de ellos protagonizó mi primer post dec&you hace poco más de tres meses... (Qué jovencito es aún este blog y lo que me queda por aprender con él...)

Con un estilo más suavizado pero sin perder ese acento sobrio y con personalidad, tenéis las dos fotografías siguientes:

 - Piel envejecida.

- Objetos decorativos de estilo vintage como trofeos, cuadros, material deportivo antiguo, herrajes y elementos de referencia industrial...

- Grandes relojes con sabor del pasado.

- Materiales como el cuero y las fibras naturales como el sisal o el coco... Las maderas viejas o sin tratar... Los remaches de hierro y acero... El acabado oxidado de muchas piezas... Las referencias a mecanismos propios de la industria y los oficios como poleas, ruedas de hierro, muelles de acero plegables...
